Membership Terms and Conditions

all persons applying for membership of the Midland Rail Heritage Trust must agree with the terms and conditions of membership outlined below.

Membership

The Trust shall consist of an unlimited number of members who are interested in promoting the objects of the Trust. Persons desiring to join shall sign an application form and pay the prescribed subscription, and upon approval of the Board of Trustees shall become members.
Corporate bodies may apply for members of the Trust and upon approval by the Board of Trustees shall become members and shall be entitled to nominate two representatives to the Trust who shall be capable of holding office if elected and who shall have full voting tights at General Meetings of the Trust.

Rights of Members

At the Annual General Meeting of the Trust, the members may elect on a pro rata basis i.e.; up to and including 4 trustees, members may elect 1 trustee, and above 4 trustees the members may elect 2 trustees. The elected trustee/s shalt be elected for a period of 2 years.

Honorary Members

Any person or persons who have in the opinion of the Board of Trustees rendered signal service to the Trust or its objectives may be elected Honorary Life Members at any general meeting of the Trust.
Any organisation which has in the opinion of the Board of Trustees rendered signal service to the Trust or its objectives may be elected Honorary Benefactor Member at any general meeting of the Trust.

Cancelation of Membership

If any member shall wilfully ignore the rules of the Trust or allow his subscription to be in arrears for 6 months or otherwise act to the detriment of the interest of the Trust the Board of Trustees may by resolution remove the name of such member from the list of members and thereupon such member shall cease to be entitled to any rights and privileges of membership but shall not be relieved of any then existing pecuniary obligations to the Trust.

Resigning/ Ceasing Membership

Any member desiring to terminate his or her membership shall give notice in writing of such desire to the Secretary, and such member shall thereupon cease to be a member of the Trust but shall not be relieved from any existing pecuniary obligations to the Trust.
